What’s up, gaming community. Welcome back to another dose of dopamine. Another month, another set of free games to get with those paid subscriptions or apps. This article will contain a list of free games for July 2021 varying by platform (PlayStation, Xbox, or PC).

As a reminder, Epic Games won’t announce which game is free until the week prior. So, I will be updating this article weekly. Without further ado, let’s begin.

PlayStation Plus is a subscription that offers 2 PS4 or games and a PS5 game. Disclaimer: If your subscription expires, the games are blocked without renewal or buying the game separately.

For July 2021, the PlayStation Plus player base will be able to download:

  • A Plague’s Tale: Innocence (July 6th until August 3rd)
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (July 6th until August 3rd)
  • WWE 2K Battlegrounds (July 6th until August 3rd)

A Plague’s Tale is an interesting one due to its sequel being announced last month. Now you have a free option for people interested in the series (especially with the twist in the game). Uncharted: Lost Legacy was not expected because I initially thought Lost Legacy was more of DLC than anything else. Who knows? I could be wrong. I had the same thought process with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and that game is now my favorite Christmas Game. (Yes, that is a thing). Those are my thoughts.

Xbox Live Gold is a subscription that offers 2 Xbox One games and a combination between one Xbox 360 game and one original Xbox game. Disclaimer: Any games obtained will be permanently added to the user’s library even after the subscription ends. All free 360 and original Xbox games will be automatically backward-compatible with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

For July 2021, the Xbox Live Gold players will be able to download:

  • Xbox:
    • Conker: Live & Reloaded (July 1st until 15th)
  • Xbox 360:
    • Midway Arcade Origins (July 16th until 31st)
  • Xbox One:
    • Shadows: Awakening (June 16th until July 15th)
    • Planet Alpha (July 1st until 31st)
    • Rock of Ages (July 16th until August 15th)

Prime Gaming (formerly Twitch Prime) is available to all Amazon Prime members, and it gives PC games and DLC to users each month. Disclaimer: Any games or DLC obtained will be permanently added to the user’s library even after the Prime subscription ends.

To the PC master race for December 2020 (between July 1st until July 31st), you will receive:

  • Free until July 1st:
    1. BFF or Die
    2. Newfound Courage
    3. Lost in Harmony
    4. Mugsters
    5. Spitkiss
  • Free until August 2nd:
    1. Portal Dogs
    2. RAD
    3. The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition
    4. Automachef
    5. Telltale’s: Batman – The Enemy Within
    6. The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature
    7. Tales of the Neon Sea

I know some of these games’ availability end on the first day of July. But these are the only ones Prime has announced. Once more games are available, I will add an update to the article.

Lastly, we got the Epic Games Store also for the PC. Disclaimer: Any games obtained will be added to the user’s library even after the free period. Epic Games Store doesn’t require a paid subscription of any kind.

PC players for July 2021 will also be able to get:

  • The Spectrum Retreat (July 1st until 8th)
  • Bridge Constrictor The Walking Dead (July 8th until 15th)
  • Ironcast (July 8th until 15th)
  • Obduction (July 15th until 22nd)
  • Offworld Trading Company (July 15th until 22nd)
  • Defense Grid: The Awakening (July 22nd until 29th)
  • Verdun (July 22nd until 29th)
I wonder what game was free for June?

July has a weird set of games this month. There wasn’t anything too horrible with the list. Nothing was incredible compared to last month. Hate to say I’m a little underwhelmed but, that’s the beauty of a month. It’s only 30 days before we get more games. (I wrote as I realized July has 31 days).

If you still wish to look for more free games available, make sure to read June’s edition of the article. Depending on when you read this, there may be games that are still free. Other than this, that will do it for this month. Make sure you come back here for any updates. While you’re at it, make sure you subscribe to me or follow me on Twitter @_urgegaming. I hope you and your loved ones have a blessed day and a cultural month. Peace.
