March is right around the corner. That means on Monday; we have free games to discuss this month. This article will contain a list of free games for March 2021 varying by platform (PlayStation, Xbox, or PC). With the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X already released, make sure to read the updated information for every subscription service.

As a reminder, Epic Games won’t announce which game is free until the week prior. So, this article will be updated weekly. Without further ado, let’s begin.

PlayStation Plus is a subscription that offers PS4, PSVR, and PS5 games each month. Disclaimer: If your subscription expires, the games are blocked without renewal or buying the game separately. All PS4 games mentioned will be able to play on PS5 through backward-compatibility.

Starting March 2, 2021, PlayStation Plus members will be able to own:

  • Final Fantasy VII Remake
  • Remnant: From the Ashes
  • Marquette (PS5 only)
  • Farpoint (PSVR)

A new PS5 game and FFVII are very tempting. The Final Fantasy Remake alone makes it worth it because it came out last year and was pretty much game of the year. Why Last of Us: Part II was there? I honestly don’t know.

Xbox Live Gold is a subscription that offers 2 Xbox One games, 1 Xbox 360, and/or 1 original or 360 Xbox game. Disclaimer: Any games obtained will be permanently added to the user’s library even after the subscription ends. All free 360 and original Xbox games will be automatically backward-compatible with the Xbox One. As of November 2020, Xbox Series X|S will play all games mentioned here also.

For March 2021, the Xbox Live Gold player base will be able to download:

  • Xbox 360:
    • Metal Slug (March 1st until the 31st)
    • Port Royale 3 (March 16th until 15th)
  • Xbox One:
    • Warface: Breakout (March 1st until the 31st)
    • Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse (March 16th until April 15th)
    • Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition (February 16th until March 15th)

Prime Gaming (formerly Twitch Prime) is available to all Amazon Prime members, and it gives PC games and DLC to users each month. Disclaimer: Any games or DLC obtained will be permanently added to the user’s library even after the subscription ends.

To the PC master race for March 2021 (between March 1st until March 31st unless otherwise), you will receive (this is gonna be a long one):

Lastly, we got the Epic Games Store also for the PC. Disclaimer: Any games obtained will be added to the user’s library even after the free period. Epic Games Store doesn’t require a paid subscription of any kind.

PC players for March 2021 will also be able to get:

  • Sunless Sea (February 25th until March 4th)
  • Wargame: Red Dragon (March 4th until 11th)
  • Surviving Mars (March 11th until 18th)
  • The Fall (March 18th until the 25th)
  • Creature in the Well (March 25th until April 1st)

March has to be the most game-packed month this year, and that isn’t a bad thing. Whether you own an Xbox or PC, there are always diamonds in the rough. If you didn’t find any video games this month appealing, look at February’s article here. Depending on reading this article on March 1st or March 31st, those games may still be available.

That’s it for March 2021. Thank you for reading my article. Make sure to come back here weekly for any updates throughout the month. While you’re at it, make sure you subscribe to me or follow me on the site’s Twitter @_urgegaming. Tell your loved ones you love them and have a blessed day. Peace.
