June has arrived with another set of free games to get with those paid subscriptions or apps. This article will contain a list of free games for June 2021 varying by platform (PlayStation, Xbox, or PC).
As a reminder, Epic Games won’t announce which game is free until the week prior. So, I will be updating this article weekly. Without further ado, let’s begin.
PlayStation Plus is a subscription that offers 2 PS4 games and one PS5 game this month. Disclaimer: If your subscription expires, the games are blocked without renewal or buying the game separately.
For June 2021, the PlayStation Plus player base will be able to download:
- Operation Tango (PS5) (June 1st until July 5th)
- Star Wars: Squadrons (PS4) (June 1st until July 5th)
- Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown (PS4) (June 1st until August 2nd)
Xbox Live Gold is a subscription that offers two Xbox One games and a combination between two Xbox 360 games and one original Xbox game. Disclaimer: Any games obtained will be permanently added to the user’s library even after the subscription ends. All free 360 and original Xbox games will be automatically backward-compatible with the Xbox One and Xbox Series.
For June 2021, the Xbox Live Gold players will be able to download:
- Xbox 360:
- NeoGeo Battle Coliseum (June 1st until 15th)
- Injustice: Gods Among Us (June 16th until 30th)
- Xbox One:
- Dungeons 3 (May 16th until June 15th)
- The King’s Bird (June 1st until 30th)
- Shadows: Awakening (June 16th until June 15th)
Prime Gaming (formerly Twitch Prime) is available to all Amazon Prime members, and it gives PC games and DLC to users each month. Disclaimer: Any games or DLC obtained will be permanently added to the user’s library even after the Prime subscription ends.
To the PC master race for June 2021 (between June 1st until June 25th), you will receive:
- Free until June 2nd:
- Healer’s Quest
- Beholder
- A Blind Legend
- Yoku’s Island Express
- Free until June 4th:
- Faraway: Director’s Cut
- Free until June 11th:
- Bombslinger
- Free until June 18th:
- Mana Spark
- Free until June 25th:
- Frog Climbers
Lastly, we got the Epic Games Store also for the PC. Disclaimer: Any games obtained will be added to the user’s library even after the free period. Epic Games Store doesn’t require a paid subscription of any kind.
PC players for June 2021 will also be able to get:
- Among Us (May 28th until June 3rd)
- Frostpunk (June 3rd until 10th)
- Genshin Impact (June 10th until 11th)
- Control (June 10th until 11th)
- Hell is other demons (June 17th until 24th)
- Overcooked! 2 (June 17th until 24th)
- Horizon Chase Turbo (June 24th until July 1st)
- Sonic Mania (June 24th until July 1st)
- The Spectrum Retreat (July 1st until July 8th)
June looks to be a solid month for Playstation, Xbox, and PC. If you haven’t played Among Us or you’ve played only on mobile, this might be a steal. On Xbox, Injustice is a great fighting game and has one of the best DC stories in recent time. To be clear, I said the best DC stories. Comics and movies aren’t excluded. For Playstation, I don’t have much to say about their games. I haven’t heard anything terrible about Squadrons unless you have motion sickness, and I do not know enough about Virtua Fighter to speak on it. Maybe this can be an opportunity to try it.
