Yesterday, Sony had a PlayStation Livestream event and announced a considerable number of games for the PlayStation, which ended with revealing what the new console will look like.

Most of the presentation time focused on the games. Several of which pretty much guarantee a console purchase. Some sequels appeared such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales (Holiday 2020), Horizon Forbidden West (TBA), Rachet and Clank: Rift Apart (TBA). We got a dose of brand-new IP’s like Destruction AllStars (TBA), Deathloop (TBA), and Kena: Bridge of Spirits (TBA). Third-party games such as Resident Evil VIII: Village (2021) and Hitman 3 (Jan 2021). There are even remaster games announced like GTA: V (2021), Demon’s Souls (TBA), and NBA 2K21 (don’t lie to me and say that it is. That’s pretty much what it is). A full list of confirmed 2020 games will be below:

What got people talking the most was the reveal of what the PS5. Besides the memes (seriously, the Barclay stadium one made laugh my head off), along with the accessories and the digital version, I don’t mind the design. But there’s still is no confirmed priced for the console, which was the one thing everybody wanted to know.

Overall, it was an excellent presentation. The endless numbers of games are overwhelmingly convincing. The console design is okay, and the inclusion of a digital version lets us know this is the future. The only thing they did not inform about the console is the price, which doesn’t put my mind at ease.

What I learned is that the PlayStation 5 is a buy with the games. If the console price ends up at most $650, I might buy it when it comes out. If the price is closer to $800, I will just wait until the price drop.
