Since the beginning of the quarantine, people have been looking for ways to pass the time while at home, but most people seem to play online games. For example, I’ve been reinvested in Apex Legends for their season 5 content. My little brother, who doesn’t play that much, even got a little into NBA 2K online. My older brother, who definitely doesn’t play, has been teaming up with his friends in Call of Duty: Deadzone.
Moments like this got me wondering, how many people have significant others are away from each other during the quarantine? If they like to play games together, what games would they play? If you’re one of those people, then you came to the right list. Here are some games you can play that is enjoyable for couples that are apart. All games are available for at least one console people can party up in.
1. Battle Royals (Apex Legends, Fortnite, COD: Deadzone)
Battle Royals are so commonplace now, and days, I felt that giving them one spot would be the best approach. All 3 games include you teaming with other people to fight until one team (of course, yours) is left standing. COD and Fortnite both have crossplay for multiple consoles so everyone can feel involved. Apex comes with a revive system to the game going and be more engaging with your teammates.
2. Portal 2
It’s Portal with co-op, what’s more, to say. Okay, so there is more. Portal is about the player having a portal gun that lets you go in one area and come out another. Portal 2‘s two-player co-op mode takes the idea and extends it to 4 portals through several physic and momentum puzzles. Success will require them to not just act together, but to think conjointly.
3. NBA 2K
2K is a series that focuses on playing basketball with the best team you can form. So why no play with friends online for cooperative play or better yet, grab a full team, and make an unstoppable team online.
4. Destiny 2
Shoot, loot, power up, quest, rinse, and repeat. Destiny 2 is a simple game where you just pick up a weapon and fight enemies with guns and space magic. Between the fun quests, the beautiful environment and the precious loot you can get your hands on, playing the game can be a rhythmic thing to sink hundreds of hours in. Compliments to the development team for the feel and experience.
5. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
I thought I should end this with something relaxing after the guns, guns, sports, and more guns. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a simple game that lets you create, explore, and customize anything on your own personal island full of friendly animals. The games share feature gives you the ability to visit friend’s islands, and friends can visit yours. With this online co-op mode, up to 8 people can be on the same island at once.
